How to Convert Your CAD File to VR (the Immersifier)

  1. Create your 3D or CAD file.
  2. Uploading your File to the Immersifier
    • Browse to APP.VCAD.COM and Login.
    • Click Immersifier
  3. Select your Supported File below

      • Units = Meters

    1. Export your Revit file as a FBX.
    2. Zip the *.FBX and the image files together.
    3. Upload file.

    1. Save as a SketchUp 2014 file.
    2. Upload the *.SKP file.

    1. Export your file from Rhino to *.FBX, note the units selected in options.
    2. Zip together the *.FBX file and the Materials folder. One FBX file per zip.

    1. In Tiltbrush, export the .TILT as a *.FBX
    2. Upload file the exported FBX.

  5. Click Upload. The conversion has started.
    • Let the upload complete, then you will receive an estimated conversion time.
    • The Project’s Conversion progress will appear on the Website’s Project Page.
    • You will receive an email when the conversion is complete.
    • The Project will appear on the App’s Project Page when completed.
  6. Entering the model for the first time.
    • By default, you will start in the absolute center of your model.
    • Look in any direction and press the Button on the VR Headset. You will move that direction.
  7. How’s the scale?
    • If you seem to be moving very fast, then the scale was set too small. For example, you set Units = Inches, but the model was in Millimeters.
    • If you seem to be moving very slow, then the scale was set too small. For Example, you set the Units = Feet, but the model was in Meters.
    • You can go to settings and change the speed to compensate, but really, you’ll want to re-Immersify the at a different scale.
  8. The Settings Menu
    • In VR mode
      • With the phone in a headset, look down and you’ll see a GEAR icon. Click it.
      • The Navigation Menu will appear. Select Speed, Mode (Fly, Ghost, Walk), and Height.
      • You can also select Lighting Settings and Model Setup defaults.
    • In 2D mode
      • With the phone in your hand, click the top GEAR icon. FYI, the bottom gear is to configure your phone to your headset.
      • The same Navigation Menu will appear.
  9. Save your settings and start position
    • It is important to save a few settings for either you or your client.
    • To save a start point. Navigate to the desired starting location, then click the Settings Gear > Model Setup > Save Start Point.
    • If you’ve set custom settings like lighting, speed, and height, then click Settings Gear > Model Setup > Save Settings.
    • You’re ready to Share your Project.
  10. To Share your Project.
    • Visit your Project Page on App.vCAD.com.
    • Find your project, click Share
    • Enter the emails to share with. They will receive an email notifying them of the new project.
